Today's song is Death from the White Lies. This band follows in the UK post-punk genre with a sound compared to Joy Division, Interpol & the Editors. This is one of the more upbeat songs on the album despite the melancholy title. Another notable song, To Lose My Life, is the first single off the 2009 album entitled To Lose My Life... If you can dig the dark and self-proclaimed uplifting sound check out the rest of the album.

Today's song is The Faint - The Geeks Were Right. This is the first single and first song of their most recent (2008) album Fascination. The album is their fifth release and in my opinion their best. Their sound falls into the indie-pop/dance-synth category similar to that of Fischerspooner, Hot Chip, Goldfrapp. If you like this song, there are a couple other gold tracks on the album; my favorite being Fulcrum & Lever. Their last album Wet from Birth is also worth a listen.

Today I bring you the Doves latest single, Andalucia. This single comes on their best of album that release last month, the only new song on the album. The album is a 3-disc set (2 dcs and one dvd) which does a good job summing up the band's life. This album is the fourth album in 9 years following least year's much awaited release Kingdom of Rust. I have been listening to Doves since their inception and can appreciate every level of their growth. If you are unfamiliar with their music, the best of album is a must have. If you are like me, after you hear their versatility you will find yourself searching for their Lost Souls album (2000) which is probably their most obscure work.
